We continue to provide design services for the University of South Australia (uniSA) The image shows two recently refurbished Lecture Theatres at the City West Campus. The highly serviced lecterns allow staff to control lighting and audiovisual features within the theatre. Consistency in design means lecturers are familiar with the lectern controls, regardless of which theatre they are presenting within.
Warriappendi Trade Skills Centre
Feature rammed earth walls are currently being installed as part of the Warriappendi Trade skills centre. Warriappendi is a secondary school for young Aboriginal people located in Adelaide's inner west. The new skills centre will contain a commercial kitchen, dining area and classroom allowing for the delivery of Certificates within the Hospitality area.
Whyalla High School
W+S assisted Whyalla High School in the refurbishment of three redundant science classrooms within an existing three level building. The building had been empty for a number of years, so we worked closely with the building certifier to ensure the refurbished floor was fully compliant with current codes and standards. The end result is 4 contemporary teaching spaces allowing for team teaching, taking full advantage of the abundant natural light, integrated IT technologies and new power, data and air-conditioning. This was a remarkably cost effective reuse of what were redundant, unusable spaces.
GOING LIVE
Its been over a year since we took down the old website. This was supposed to be a two month break to have a think about what a design website should be in 2016 (well, 2015 actually, but thats gone)
We all agreed that the site needs to be clean, simple, not too many pages and should be managed in house. Our last web site became simpler and simpler over time, with the blog component becoming increasingly important as social media became increasingly relevant.
So our intent is for this site to be current, relevant and for it to reflect what we do well.
